A single zone heating-A/C system has a single blend door actuator, but a dual zone system has two, located in the driver and passenger zones. For either a single or dual zone driver side, start by putting the blend door actuator on the HVAC housing's backside, making sure the output shaft matches the blend door lever. Hold the actuator in place with screws, tighten them to 5 in. lb. and attach the HVAC wire harness connector to the actuator. After that, fit the instrument panel and attach the negative
Battery Cable again. After that, use a scan tool to begin the Actuator Calibration function. On the dual zone passenger side, place the blend door actuator and bracket assembly inside the HVAC housing at the top and connect it using screws tightened to 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.); then connect the HVAC wire harness to the actuator. During installation, make the guide pin from the guide door lever line up with the guides on the blend door linkage, then put the guide door lever onto the output shaft of the actuator and the blend door linkage. After putting in the instrument panel and reconnecting the negative battery cable, turn on the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool.
