How to Maintain and Repair a Drive Shaft on 2007 Jeep Commander?

Put the car in neutral, lift it on a hoist and allow the drive/propeller shaft to hang below the car. Write on the propeller shaft, pinion flange and transfer case flanges so you remember where to place them. Pull the propeller shaft out of the axle pinion flange and out of the vehicle transfer case flange or transmission flange as well. Remove the propeller shaft from the car as the last step. A propeller shaft slip joint boot replacement is possible; be sure to put reference marks on all parts of the shaft before joining. Problems can emerge in the shape of a driveline vibration if you do not follow these rules.
