2007 Jeep Commander Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the Fuel Rail for a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: Make sure to clean the intake manifold's fuel injector bore before you install the fuel rail and injectors on a 3.7L engine. Rub a very small amount of engine oil over every fuel injector O-ring before installing them. Guide each fuel injector into its matching openings in the cylinder head, checking as you go that the O-rings have not been torn. Press down on the right fuel rail until the injectors sit onto the cylinder head shoulder and repeat this on the left fuel rail. Attach the four fuel rail mounting bolts and tighten them and next install the six ignition coils. Afterig up the throttle body, plug in the electrical connectors into each of the fuel injectors and apply pressure to the red slider to secure them in place. Attach the vacuum lines to the throttle body, use two bolts to bolt the air resonator bracket to the throttle body's front and add the fuel line latch clip and fuel line to the fuel rail. Fit the air box onto the throttle body and later attach the air duct to the air box. After that, connect the battery cable to the battery, turn the engine on and look for any leaks.
