2007 Jeep Commander Oil Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: Which Oil Filter is Best for All Engines and How to Remove It on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: An excellent, disposable full-flow oil filter 1 is included with all engines and it is advised to use a Mopar(R) or similar type filter. After putting a drain pan below the oil filter, use an appropriate wrench to remove it. Counterclockwise rotation of the oil filter will release it from the cylinder block oil filter boss. After the filter becomes separated, curl the gasket end up so that less oil spills and remove the filter from the vehicle. Make sure you pull out the filter gasket too and use a wiping cloth to remove grime and oil from the surface where it sits.
