How to Maintain and Fix an Oxygen Sensor on 2007 Jeep Commander?

Before anything else, elevate and support the vehicle to deal with the oxygen sensor. Unplug the O2S sensor from its wire connector, without pulling on the wire going into the sensor. The oxygen sensor can be removed with an oxygen sensor removal and installation kit. Avoid dropping sensor dirt into the exhaust system by cleaning it with the proper pipe tape before installing a new part. Do not connect grease or solder to the oxygen sensor electrical connector or to its wiring lead. Make sure the vehicle's engine has sufficiently cooled, as hot exhaust pipes, exhaust manifold and catalytic converter can increase the danger during removal.
