How to Safely and Correctly Install an Air Bag Control Module on 2007 Jeep Commander?

Before getting started, shut off the supplemental restraint system and disconnect the negative battery cable for two minutes to prevent risk of injury to your hands. Attach the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) onto the ORC mount in the floor panel transmission tunnel, so that the bottom part of the housing is even with the mount and the arrow on the label is directed forward. Attach the ORC to the mount using three screws, ensuring you don't over-tighten, as it should be at 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). Push the instrument panel and body wire harness connectors into the ORC connector receptacles and make sure the latches and red locks are closed all the way. Attach the center console back into the transmission tunnel on the floor panel. When servicing anything in the supplemental restraint system, do not plug in the battery negative cable until the verification system test is completed.
