2007 Jeep Commander Vapor Canister Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the Vapor Canister Replaced and Installed on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: The EVAP canister and the ESIM switch are both replaced at the same time as an assembly. Place canister 5 over mounting bracket 6 and bolt and tighten the two canister-to-mounting bracket nuts 4. After that, attach the canister/switch/bracket assembly to the body and insert and screw in the three mounting nuts 1, 2 and 3 which hold the bracket to the body. Join the vapor/vacuum lines from the EVAP canister and ESIM switch to their corresponding points, ensuring they do not move. Look for damage or leaks in the vapor/vacuum lines at the EVAP canister, ESIM switch and EVAP canister purge solenoid, because a leak could set an error code on the Diagnostic Trouble Code system. After that, connect the electrical connector to the ESIM switch, add the plastic splash shield to the rear of the left-rear tire and place the left-rear tire on.
