How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on 2007 Jeep Compass?

Before servicing the outer tie rod end, lift up and steady the vehicle, then loosen and remove the wheel fastening nuts and the whole tire-wheel unit. Let go of the tie rod end stud and remove the jam nut. Apply Remover, Special Tool 9360, to release the tie rod end from the knuckle, then remove the outer tie rod. While removing the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod, count how many times you turn it to ensure the wheel is closer to being set correctly during installation. Following this, remove the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod.
