2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Correctly Install an Exhaust Manifold on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: If as you remove nuts you also remove the studs, you need to install new studs, placing some sealer on the coarse thread ends to protect against water leaks. Arrange the engine exhaust manifold and the gasket near the two studs on the cylinder head and fasten conical washers and nuts on those studs. After installing the conical washers, tighten the bolts and nuts on the center arm and then moving outward to all bolts, setting torque to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) Following that, add the exhaust heat shields and use the hoist to raise and support the vehicle, being careful not to tighten the heat shield nuts too firmly. After that, attach the exhaust pipe to the manifold and secure everything with bolts, nuts and retainers at a torque of 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). The actions for the left exhaust manifold are the same, including using new studs when needed and observing the same torque and precautions used earlier.
