2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Vapor Canister Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Vapor Canister with an NVLD Pump on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: First, fit a new O-ring from the NVLD pump to the EVAP canister before installing the pump itself. Then, install the canister into the pump and twist it until the tab matches the notch. After your canister is handled safely in neat wrapping, place it in its bracket, then fasten the two nuts that hold the canister to the bracket. Once that's done, place the canister/pump assembly on the body and secure it with the three bracket nuts. Connect the hoses for vapor and vacuum between the NVLD pump and EVAP canister securely. Be sure to look at the NVLD pump, filter and evaporative emissions canister purge solenoid for leaks or damage, since a leak could cause a Diagnostic Trouble Code. Attach the pump's electrical connector, fit the splash shield to the left rear tire and at the end, tighten the left rear wheel.
