How to Install a Power Seat Motor on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

If you notice a heavy lap seat, symptoms of a loose locking pawl, an engaged locking pawl in the frame or an absent or broken shear pin, bypass the repairs and replace the height adjuster assembly. The front tilt motor should be installed on the seat adjuster and secured with fasteners tightened to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Connect its electrical connector, install the seat cushion, connect the wire harness, install the seat assembly, connect the battery negative cable and test the motor. Before installing the motor on the seat adjuster, ensure it is at maximum height and position the motor there. Place the motor shaft screw and washer into the motor without using force, then screw the motor into the seat adjuster, tightening the bottom screw with 9 Nm and the motor shaft screws with 6.5 Nm. Attach the motor's electrical connector, place the seat cushion, connect the lower wire harness to the seat pan, assemble the seat, plug the battery negative cable in and test the seat by operating it.
