2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Washer Reservoir on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Connecting the negative battery cable is the first step before you can work on the windshield washer reservoir. Steer to the left as far as possible, then open the cap on the reservoir and remove it from its hook on the filler neck. Take away the blind rivet holding the washer reservoir filler neck to the upper radiator support. Lift the car slightly, then remove the plastic push-in fasteners at the front of the left front wheelhouse splash shield that are sited on the inner fender panel and front fascia. Pull the front part of the splash shield outwards from the inner fender and face to access the washer reservoir. Undo the connectors between the washer level switch and each wire to disconnect the headlamp and dash from them. Write down or remember how the hoses were attached to the pump before you disconnect them for reinstallation. Remove the front and rear washer hoses from the ends of the barbed outlet nipples on the pump, so the washer fluid can be stored in a container and reused. Undo the two screws that hold the washer reservoir to the frame rail on the left front, then remove the hook tab at the washer reservoir's front from the slot in the left front frame rail. Put the reservoir in the washer track and lift it out of the vehicle once its turned so it doesn't hit anything.
