In order to fix and repair a power seat or front tilt motor, start by disconnecting the negative
Battery Cable to prevent electricity from getting through. Taking out the disabled motor seat, as well as the cushion and pan, comes first. Unplug the connector of the motor and remove the fasteners that hold the motor in place on the seat adjuster and then take the motor out. During installation, place the new motor on the seat adjuster and screw down the fasteners with a torque of 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.). Connect the electrical wires to the motor, seat the cushion back on the frame and hook the wire harness to the cushion pan using the clip. Then, fit the seat assembly back, attach the negative battery cable and see if the power seat assembly functions properly. If you see a loose locking pawl, locking pawl inside the frame side member with adjustments performed only on the outside or a lost or damaged shear pin, replace the entire height adjuster assembly without attempting to repair it, because doing so may lead to injury or death.
