  A: Ensure the pressure within the fuel system is gone before proceeding with the service of the pump module; it might still be under pressure. On the top side of the fuel tank lie the fuel pump module and the pump module lock ring. To start, remove and drain the fuel tank. Before removing the module, check what position it is in by studying the indexing arrow at the top. Engage the notches found on the outside edge of the lockring by using Lockring Remover/Installer 9340. Screw the Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 onto the bottom bracket with the 1/2 inch drive breaker bar; then turn the breaker bar counterclockwise to release the lockring. Take off the lockring and the module will move up slightly; this lets you remove it from the fuel tank without worrying about the float arm being bent.
