What is the correct method for installing a Wiper Arm on 2007 Jeep Patriot?

Before installing the wiper arms in front, position the wiper motor in PARK by turning the ignition on and moving the right button to OFF. Let the wiper pivots come to a stop and after that, turn the ignition switch off. It is important to align the front wiper arms to the pivot shafts when the motor is positioned at stop. Fit the wiper arm pivot onto the wiper pivot shaft so that the wiper blade is parallel with the horizontal lines found along the upper edge of the windshield blackout area. Relax the arm pressure point at the windshield by lifting it a bit and then push the pivot down on the shaft until it stays tightly in place. Tighten the nut on the wiper arm to the pivot shaft to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). First, spray the glass with water and use the front wiper blades, then switch the wiper to OFF and make sure the wipers are resting in the right place, fixing them if they aren't. At last, put the nut cap of the plastic part back on the wiper arm pivot nut.
