How to Maintain and Fix a Wiper Arm on 2008 Jeep Patriot?

Pull the front wiper arm to its over-center point which will stop the wiper blade from touching the glass and release the spring pressure on the wiper arm to pivot shaft connection. Gently remove the plastic nut cap by the wiper arm's base and pull out the nut holding the wiper arm to the wiper pivot shaft. You should not use a battery terminal puller to take out the wiper arm from the front, as this can result in harm. Then, use a little rocking movement to take apart the front wiper arm pivot end from the pivot shaft and take away the wiper arm.
