2007 Jeep Wrangler Battery Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely and Correctly Install Battery Cables on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before you place the battery cables, remove all metallic jewelry to be sure you are protected. Put the battery cables in place in the engine compartment and fit the pushpins, fasteners and routing clips along the cable routing continuously until they are all back in their earlier places. Attach the negative battery cable to the engine block ground and fix the other cable to the B+ terminal of the starter motor. Tighten its nut to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.). Once that's done, you should attach the battery cable to the B+ terminal of the generator, tightening it with 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.). Remember the cables you attach are not the same for both gasoline and diesel engine vehicles, so be sure to check their locations before working on the battery. The arrangement for left-hand drive gasoline gasoline engines is provided and left-hand drive diesel engines are the same. Right-hand drive gasoline and diesel engines place the battery and linked components on the left side of the engine compartment. Attach the cable routing clips to the mounting studs, then fasten the nut holding the negative cable onto the body ground stud with 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs. of torque.) Push the securing nut onto the battery cable stud next to the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) cable, then connect the battery's positive cable to the TIPM cable and tighten the cable clamp nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). Attach the top negative battery cable to the negative post and turn the nut with 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.) of force.
