2008 Jeep Wrangler Battery Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install Battery Cables on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Metal jewelry should be removed first to avoid wounding from accidental battery current leaks. Install the battery cables where they were connected before and attach the battery cable retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips one at a time, making certain the cables are in the same position as they were before. Put the negative battery cable onto the engine block ground and cover the cable to the motor's B+ terminal with a 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.) cable nut. Thereafter, join the battery cable to the B+ terminal on the generator, applying 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.) of pressure to the cable nut. Screw the mounting studs to the assembly clips, then attach the nut for the negative cable to ground stud and tighten to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Secure the Nut for the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) Cable to the battery cable stud, connect the battery positive cable to the nut and tighten the cable clamp nut to 5 Nm or 45 in. lbs. After that, attach the negative battery cable and fasten the nut with 5 Nm (45 in. lb.).
