How to Service and Repair a Hood Hinge on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?

The first step in hood hinge service and repair is to take off the cowl top panel (3). You do not need to take off the hood for this job; you can do it a hinge at a time. When done, slide in a proper support under the hood and release the hinge to body bolts (2). It will be helpful to indicate the hinge areas (1) on the hood (3) using a grease pencil or any other marking tool while putting the hood in place. Finally, take out the hinge to hood bolts (2) and get rid of the hinge (1).
