2007 Jeep Wrangler Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the Upper Intake Manifold Installed on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before installing the upper intake manifold, take off the lower intake manifold's cover and clean up both surfaces. Check the manifold gasket to see if you can use it once more. For every position of the seal channel, set a new gasket in place and press down gently to get a seal. Now, put the upper manifold over the lower manifold. Use Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive (Medium Strength Threadlocker) on each upper intake manifold bolt and secure them with the 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque sequence used in the video. You should not use any heavy tools when attaching components of the manifold to avoid both melting the material and ruining the threads; if that happens, you can get an oversized replacement screw instead. Put the MAP sensor in place and snug the fasteners to 1.7 Nm (15 in. lbs.), followed by linking the MAP sensor's electrical connector. Just like the valve, fit the EGR tube carefully using only hand tools, as bending its screws might cause it to strip. After that, secure the throttle (ETC) connector to the throttle body and the EVAP hose to its outlet. Attach the wiring connectors to the TPS and IAC motor and finally secure the PCV hose. Set the air cleaner and inlet hose assembly where they go, connect the IAT sensor wire and finally attach the negative battery cable.
