2007 Jeep Wrangler Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Change an Oil Filter and Safely Dispose of Used Oil on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Engine oil should be changed at the times and distances explained in your car's maintenance schedule. Because engine oil can irritate your skin, try to avoid touching it for a long time. Dirt from combustion inside an engine can cause concern for your health; if exposed skin touches this dirt, rinse it with water and soap right away and avoid using any gasoline, diesel fuel, thinner or solvent to clean. Let your dealer or the government agency you contact point you in the right direction to drop off your used engine oil at a collection center. Open the hood, check that the engine is at its normal working temperature and take out the oil fill cap. Underneath the crankcase, set a drain pan for the oil, then remove the crankcase drain plug and let the oil flow into the drain pan as you check if the drain plug threads are worn or damaged, putting a new drain plug and gasket on if that's the case. Take out the oil filter, screw in the drain plug and then put in a brand new oil filter. Set the chassis to its lowest setting, then pour the exact engine oil into the crankcase and add the oil fill cap. Engine on, look for leaks, then engine off, check the oil for the required amount. Take precautions when you are disposing of oil used in your engine following draining.
