2007 Jeep Wrangler Timing Chain Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Timing Chain on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, apply the fuel pressure relief, connectors and afterward, drain the cooling system. Then, unbolt the air cleaner hose and housing, after that unfasten the accessory drive belt and belt tensioner. Remove the generator, the oil level indicator tube and empty the engine oil from the crankcase before you remove the oil pan. Take out the bolts holding the power steering pump in place and put the pump off to the side. Disconnect the part of the radiator hose that's near the engine and move the air conditioning compressor away from the engine, placing it somewhere safe. After using special tool #8454 to handle the vibration damper, contxtVolvo #8450, then remove the camshaft position sensor (CMP) from the timing chain cover. Get rid of the timing chain cover bolts and remove the cover itself.
