How to Remove and Replace an Oil Filter on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

To extract & replace the oil filter,s first clean off the oil filter adapter base and examine the gasket contact surface. Then, put on clean engine oil to lubricate the gasket of the new filter. A filter wrench may be needed to install new filter, until gasket contacts the base, then tighten the filter 1 turn or to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Finally, begin engine and check for leaks.
