2007 Jeep Wrangler Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Steering Knuckle on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: It is important to start the process by raising and holding up the car, then removing the wheel before addressing the steering knuckle. After that, take out the external tie rod end nut and separate the tie rod from the knuckle with the special 9360 tool. Use the special tool to remove the nut on the right side and then separate that drag link from the knuckle. After securing the area, loosen the disc brake caliper bolts to put no pressure on the brake hose and then remove the disc brake rotor. If you have the tools, remove the nut holding the axle shaft, along with the bolt on the wheel speed sensor and pull the wheel speed sensor out through the brake shield's hole. After that, take out the lower ball joint cotter pin and nut and follow the same step for the upper ball joint. To separate the lower ball joint from the knuckle, use C-4150A puller and to separate the upper, use 9360 separator. Last, take out the steering knuckle and carry the hub/bearing with its brake shield, if required.
