2008 Chrysler Aspen EGR Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the EGR Valve Installed on a 4.7L Engine on 2008 Chrysler Aspen?
A: You should begin by cleaning the part of the left cylinder where it meets the back of the EGR valve and the EGR tube at the connection to the EGR valve before you install it. Put the gasket between the EGR valve and the cylinder head, then place the EGR valve over the cylinder head and bolt it into place with two bolts tightened to 9 Nm. After that, insert a new gasket between the EGR tube flange and the valve assembly, position the EGR tube next to the EGR valve and into the intake manifold and put in two bolts for temporary fitting. Set and torque the EGR tube flange bolt into the intake manifold at 11 Nm (8.5 ft. lbs.). Connect the electrical connection to the top of the EGR valve solenoid, follow by tightening both EGR tube bolts to 11 Nm (8.5 ft. lbs.). Restore the windshield wiper motor under the hood and the plastic windshield cowl, attach the negative battery cable and run a diagnostic scan on your car to clear any existing DTC's.
