- Q: How to Install an Exhaust Manifold Correctly on 2008 Chrysler Aspen?A: First, slip the exhaust manifold and gasket beneath your engine block, then insert its lower fasteners, but do not tighten them until each one is in place. After completing the lower exhaust system, fit the upper manifold bolts and screw them down from the center, going outward to a torque of 25 Nm (18 ft-lbs.). Be sure not to tighten the screws on the heat shield tightly, as it could result in bending or cracking. The next step is fitting the heat shield plate for the exhaust manifold and tighten the fasteners to 8 Nm (72 in. lbs.). Then, loosen them by 45 degrees. Next, set up the starter and the fasteners, connect the exhaust pipe to the manifold and join the heater hoses at the engine. Place in, secure and tighten the A/C accumulator and then the A/C compressor and its fasteners. It's time to install the accessory drive belt, as well as the air cleaner assembly, the resonator assembly and the air inlet hose. Afterward, connect the battery and the cables and fill your cooling system as needed. Proceed with installation for the left exhaust manifold in the same way you did before, including the connecting the negative cable to the battery at the end.
