2009 Chrysler Aspen EGR Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install an EGR Valve on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: While installing the EGR Valve, start by cleaning the left cylinder head mounting point, the surface where the EGR valve is connected to it, the corresponding spot on the EGR routing tube and the joining surface on the tube as well. After that, install an O-ring gasket on the EGR valve routing tube and slide a new gasket between the routing tube flange and the EGR valve assembly. Install the EGR valve routing tube onto the EGR valve by fastening it with retaining bolts, tightened to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Place the new gasket over the cylinder head and slowly push the EGR valve routing tube into the intake manifold until the flange is even with it. Put the EGR valve in position on the cylinder head, ensuring the gasket remains in its spot and then install the assembly bolts and tighten them to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Link the EGR valve solenoid connector to the electrical circuit, the fuel line to the fuel rail, the vacuum hose from the brake fluid booster and the vapor canister purge hose at the intake manifold. Reattach the throttle body resonator and join the negative end of the battery cable. After that, reset any DTC's using a diagnostic tool.
