You should make sure the exhaust system has cooled before touching the muffler area, as the area by the catalytic converter may be very hot. Begin with raising and maintaining the vehicle on the light sources. When working with a convertible, take out the rear bracket. Then, backstroke the exhaust system and undo the bolts from the center intersection flange. Take off the ground strap from the muffler and remove the pipe from its position in the exhaust hanger. Remove the rubber rings holding the exhaust and then lift out both the muffler and pipe.
