2008 Chrysler Pacifica Camshaft Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Extract the Camshaft from an Engine on 2008 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: The first step for removing the camshaft is to remove the radiator and the cooling fans. Then take out the cylinder heads and afterward, you should remove the timing chain and the camshaft sprocket. Then, remove the yoke retainer and the hydraulic lifters and remember which tappet goes where for reassembly. After that, take out the camshaft thrust plate. As you take out the camshaft, make sure to do so gently so the camshaft bearings are not harmed. A long bolt should be put into the front of the camshaft to help with its removal. After that, gently pull out the camshaft. It should be noted that camshaft bearings are covered by the engine block replacement.
