  A: Before working on the convertible top motor, first lift the top and take out the negative battery cable. After that, lift the rear seat cushion, remove the interior quarter trim panels and pull out the rear seat back. Afterwards, take out the push-pins connecting the back of the top to the rear seat back and the body. After that, you can remove the well liner. After finishing the parts shown above, undo the bung on the top of the hydraulic pump/motor unit to expose it, then disconnect the convertible top wire harness from the main body harness. Unfasten the two nuts on the hydraulic pump/motor assembly and remove the six clips holding the hydraulic hoses and convertible top wire harness to the car body, making a note on the shelf seat bracket for where they go back. After that, loosen the three bolts and two nuts for each rear seat back support bracket and remove both of the brackets. After that, take off the bolts linking each hydraulic cylinder to the main pivot brackets, separate and disconnect the hydraulic cylinder from the main pivot brackets and remove the hydraulic pump/motor assembly from the vehicle.
