2008 Chrysler Sebring Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install a Rear Steering Knuckle on 2008 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Set the rear steering knuckle on top of the control arm and also on the toe link. Mount the bolt and nut attaching the upper control arm to the knuckle now, though don't tighten them. Next, secure the lower control arm to the knuckle using the bolt and nut, but like before, don't tighten everything. After that, place and fasten the bolt plus nut securing the toe link to the knuckle, but make the connection loose. Next, add the three bolts that hold the trailing link to the knuckle and torque each to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.). First, set up the hub and bearing and then go on to fit the brake rotor or brake drum on top of the hub and bearing. When the vehicle's rear brakes use disc brakes, slide the disc brake caliper and adapter over the brake rotor and brake support plate. Install the two bolts securing the disc brake caliper adapter to the support plate and tighten everything to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.) Place the brake tube routing bracket at the knuckle, insert a mounting screw and fasten it to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). Screw on the wheel by placing the assembly over the studs and tightening the wheel nuts so that they reach 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) of force. Drop the vehicle to the floor and set it on an alignment rack or drive-on lift, raising it as needed to reach and tighten the previously loose mounting bolts and nuts. Tighten the upper control arm bolt, lower control arm bolt and toe link mounting bolt by turning each to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.). When appropriate, have your vehicle's wheels aligned.
