How to Service and Repair an Axle Shaft on 2008 Dodge Dakota?

Start by placing the car on a hoist, in neutral position. After that, take away the rear brake pieces and the cover of the differential housing and let the fluid drain out of them. Place the differential case sideways, so you can disassemble the pinion mate shaft lock screw and remove both the screw and the pinion mate shaft. Press the axle shaft inwards to pull out the C-lock and afterward take out the axle shaft.
