How to Ensure Proper Installation of a Steering Wheel on 2008 Dodge Dakota?

Ensure you don't use the original bolt and install a brand new one for installing the steering wheel. Place the spline on the hub of the steering wheel on top of the column before installing the wheel (6). Make sure to tighten the steering wheel mounting bolt according to the correct torque to avoid problems with the Clock Spring. With the steering wheel secured, slide a new steering wheel bolt (4) through and tighten it to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). You will then install the driver's side air bag (3) to the steering wheel.
