2008 Dodge Dakota Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: What is the Correct Method for Installing Wiper Arms on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before fitting the wiper arms, move the ignition switch to On and turn the multi-function switch control knob to Off. Wait until the windshield wipers stop moving and then turn the ignition back to Off. You should align the wiper arms with the pivot shafts when the wiper motor is in the parking position. Place the end of the wiper arm pivot on the shaft so the wiper blade's lower edge is lined up with the hidden wiper guidelines on the top edge of the lower windshield black area. Lift the wiper arm slightly, making sure the end lifted sits on the spring and then push the arm down over the pivot shaft. Lock the wiper arm in place by installing and tightening its nut on the pivot shaft to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Turn on your wipers, making sure the glass is wet and check that the wiper arms end up in the proper spot when you are done. After everything is aligned, put on the plastic nut cap over the wiper arm pivot nut.
