2008 Dodge Durango Seat Heater Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain Your Seat Heater on 2008 Dodge Durango?
A: The first step in servicing the seat heater is to remove and separate the battery's negative cable. To work on the seat cushion, remove the matching cover and the center rear console as well. Take out the harness routing clip attached to the console bracket and detach the electrical connector for the inoperative second row seat cushion element. Lift the faulty heating wire from the bent-end cap and cut it right at the edge where the original metal begins. To take out the seat back, separate and remove the battery negative wire, go for the ideal seat back trim cover and extract the inner second row seat back bracket trim cover. Unconnect the inoperative second row seat back powered by electricity and also disconnect the harness routing clip. Finally, cut off the wires from the old heating element so they are flush with the existing heating element. The new heating element goes on top of the factory element and because the older one is permanently attached and can't be taken out without causing damage, you should not try to remove it.
