  A: Before loosening the hinges, place many coats of masking tape across the top edge of the liftgate and in the opening. Mark on each liftgate hinge with a grease pencil or similar how its final position relates to the liftgate and rear header panel. Take out the back section of the headliner. Add multiple pieces of duct tape to the outside of the roof over the gap onto your liftgate to secure everything together. Use the suitable device to support the liftgate when the gate is in its widest open position. Each liftgate hinge is attached to the liftgate with two bolts; unbolt both of these as required. Remove nuts 4 and 5 which attach the liftgate hinges to the header panel, from beneath the rear header panel. Then prudently detach the hinges.
