2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Water Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Water Pump from a 3.3/3.8L Engine on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Before taking out the water pump, drain the cooling system in a 3.3/3.8L engine. Quickly take out the belt shield and then pull out the accessory drive belt too. With bolts out, take the water pump pulley out by pulling it back and forth between the housing and the drive hub. Turn the pulley until each of its openings matches a water pump drive hub spoke and then bring the pulley into position between the housing and hub. Install the pulley so it is above the bolts that secure the water pump and then remove them. Taking it out, pull the water pump while the pulley is kept loose within the hub and pump body. Toss out the old seal and wipe clean the seal groove along with the sealing parts on both the pump and the timing chain case cover.
