How to Remove an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2008 Dodge Nitro?

Bring the key into the key cylinder before you take out the ignition lock cylinder. For an automatic transmission car, set the shifter in the PARK position. The first steps are to take off the shroud covers and the remote keyless entry (S.K.R.E.E.M) module and then the halo ring that surrounds the cylinder. Turn the key to ON and you will find the release pin at the bottom of the cylinder, accessed from the front of the lock. As you lift the pin up with a small tool, remove the key cylinder from the lock cylinder housing.
