Push the steering shaft universal joint all the way onto the rack and pinion shaft until the hole fits into the radial groove in the steering shaft. After that, put the universal joint on the rack and pinion and secure it with the matching bolt, setting its torque to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Lightly attach both hoses to the rack and pinion before tightening the hold down bolt to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). Attach the spring clamp plates and then join the left outer tie rod end and jam nut to the inside tie rod.
