2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Rear Seat Belt on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: When servicing and repairing the rear seat belts, inspect all the elements such as seat belts, buckles, mounting parts, retractors, tether straps and anchors, to check for proper installation and any damage. If you find cut, frayed or torn belts, change them, right any twisted belts, tighten any parts that are loose and replace damaged buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchors from the DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog. Attach the belt and retractor as one to the bracket on the rear seat cushion frame so that the tab on the retractor bracket lines up with the locating slot in the seat frame bracket. Fix the retractor to the frame bracket of the seat using a screw that you tighten to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.). Run the lower anchor, latch plate and webbing through the two turning loops and the turning loop bracket above the seat back frame to avoid twisting the webbing. Put the bushings and turning loops onto the bracket, insert the pivot pin through all three and secure everything by threading the push nut over the pin. After that, put the trim cover and padding in place on top of the rear seat back frame's cover. Snake the seat belt webbing through the trim covers and install these covers over the turning loop brackets. Secure the plastic push pin fasteners into the hole in each trim cover and into the turning loop bracket. Set the lower anchor for each seat belt onto the frame of the rear seat cushion, add two washers and one spacer, ensure the webbing does not twist and fasten all the screws securely to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.). When in the left outboard seat, attach the plastic trim cap over the lower anchor screw. Place the mechanically attached seat belts onto the right side outer end of the rear seat and pop the molded plastic shield onto the back of the seat. Put the rear passenger bench seat back into the car.
