2008 Jeep Liberty Steering Column Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove a Steering Column on 2008 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before removing anything, make sure the wheels point forward and the engine's negative ground cable is removed from the battery. Should the vehicle include cruise control, detach the clock spring harness from the relay on the cruise switch on the steering wheel. Puller C-3894-a is designed to remove the steering wheel. Following this, loosen the screws under the lower shroud and take the shrouds apart. Turn on the ignition first and afterward, pull apart the shifter interlock cable that's connected to the column (If it's an automatic transmission vehicle). First, unscrew the steering coupler bolt and mounting nuts and then gently lower the column from its studs. After the column has been disconnected from the rest of the car, slide the shifter interlock cable out of its straps and take out the wiring harness from the column. Move any important parts into the new phone and after that, take out the clock spring, switches and Skreem, if your phone has them.
