  A: Prior to any service or repair on the throttle body, make sure to log any previous DTCs that may have been set. Never leave the ignition key in the ON position while testing the throttle body shaft for binding, because this could cause DTC errors. A factory set screw keeps the throttle plate in place and you are not supposed to adjust idle speed with it; for that, you depend on the PCM. To start, take the cable from the negative battery post and disconnect it. After that, get rid of the air intake tube near the throttle body, then unplug the throttle body electrical cord and remove any necessary vacuum lines. Once done, unbolt the four throttle body mounts and pull it off the manifold. Also, look at the old o-ring between the throttle body and intake manifold.
