How to Service and Repair a Wiper Motor on 2008 Jeep Patriot?

Before handling the front wiper motor, detach the battery's negative cable from the rest of the system. Take out the wiper module that sits on the front of the vehicle. First, use two large screwdrivers to push the wire holder (3) away from the socket (4) on the passenger side wiper drive link, while pressing evenly on the ball stud sides on the wiper motor crank arm. After that, pull the driver side wiper drive link sleeve bushing (2) from the ball stud at the end of the wiper motor crank arm. After that, unscrew the two screws (2) holding the motor bracket (4) to the module bracket (1). Once done, get the wiper motor and drive crank arm unit (5) out from inside the underside of the bracket.
