2008 Jeep Wrangler Fog Light Bulb Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Install a Fog Light Bulb to Avoid Overheating and Damage on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Always check the size and type of the bulb for the fog/driving lamp before changing it, since this stops the bulb or its connections being damaged. Only export-made cars have rear fog lamps, because they are not a feature of cars sold in the country. First, go underneath and behind the outboard side of the rear bumper cover and you'll uncover the spot where you can take out and connect the rear bumper wire harness to the rear fog lamp bulb socket close to the lens. Arrange the bottom part of the bulb at the same level as the socket and then insert it straight into the lamp. Then, set the socket and bulb into the opening on the rear fog lamp's back, ensuring they are lined up and fit properly into the housing, then push them through until you feel them secure in place. After alignment, turn the socket about 30 degrees clockwise to lock it and then put back the negative terminal of the battery cable.
