  A: To support repairs to the starter motor, loosen and disconnect the battery's negative lead from the car's chassis. Lift the vehicle and hold the starter motor and then remove the two bolts holding it to the transmission. Lower the starter motor enough to work on the B (+)-terminal nut, making sure to hold it up so it isn't dangling on the wire harness. After that, pull out the cable from the battery post, then cut the wire connector from the starter solenoid before unattaching the whole starter motor.
