How to Remove and Replace the Drive Belt on a 2.7L Engine on 2009 Chrysler 300?

Before taking off the serpentine drive belt, look at the health of the pulleys attached to the engine. Proper belt routing is necessary when fitting the engine to avoid overheating caused by a wrong water pump rotation. Reach the accessory drive belt around the many pulleys in your engine, excluding the idler pulley. Make sure the tensioner arm touches its end point all the way around, then run the belt around the idler pulley and help the tensioner arm settle down over every pulley. For a new belt, set the indexing tang about 6 - 8mm (0.24 - 0.32 in.) beyond the indexing stop on the housing, as long as the belt is used for less than 15 minutes. When the installation is complete, look at the belt wear indicator.
