2009 Chrysler Aspen Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Wiper Motor on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Position the front wiper motor (7) and crank arm (5) from below on the bracket where the front wiper module is installed (6). First, make sure the motor is secure to the bracket with three screws (1), then tighten them all to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.). After that, fit the left wiper drive link sleeve bushing over the ball stud on the crank arm's end. Use a short 19 millimeter or 3/4 inch socket to install the bushing, applying pressure from the channel-lock pliers on the ball studs, rather than putting pressure straight on the plastic piece. Be sure the installed sleeve bushing (2) is sitting squarely over the lower ball of the ball stud (3) with enough open space to trace the path of the crank arm (1). Place the socket bushing for the wiper drive link over the ball stud on the crank and line everything up like before. Link the wire harness connector onto the windshield wiper motor, then return the cowl plenum cover/grille panel over the wiper module. Connect the battery negative cable and if your vehicle has an HEV system, ensure someone skilled specialists reinstalls the high voltage service disconnect into the high voltage battery pack. Set the ignition switch to the ON position, then use the wiper switch to turn on and off the wipers until they sit in their park positions while you fix the front wiper arms back on. Swing the new arms back onto the wiper pivots at the end of the installation.
