2009 Chrysler Sebring Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install Upstream and Downstream Oxygen Sensors on 2009 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Always wait until the engine has cooled before starting the O2S installation, because the exhaust manifold, pipes and catalytic converter can burn you. For this step, use an O2S removal tool and make sure the new sensors have the anti-seize compound already, so you will not need to use any more. Screw the O2S into the catalytic converter, reaching a tightening torque of 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). After that, join the O2S pigtail harness to the engine harness and fasten the O2S wire harness clips to the engine or body using the provided clips if so equipped. When working on the upstream oxygen sensor, still observe proper engine temperature and use the O2S removal tool. Hook the O2S to the exhaust pipe and tighten it to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.), then link the O2S pigtail harness to the engine's harness and attach the wire harness clips to the engine or body if they're included.
