How to Ensure Proper Installation of a Steering Wheel on 2009 Chrysler Sebring?

Before fitting the steering wheel, arrange the front wheels straight ahead and have the turn signal stalk sitting flat. Be careful not to push the steering wheel directly onto the column at the base of your steering column. Put the wide end of the steering wheel (2) into the empty spline area of the steering shaft (1) and move the wheel gently in place so the Clock Spring is not held too tightly against the wheel. Attach the bolt that holds the steering wheel (4) and torque it to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). Release the wiring connector (2) of the Clock Spring and install the driver air bag (3). Remove the battery and use the air bag System Test manual to keep the air bag from accidental deployment which might result in injury. When the battery is attached, inspect if all vehicle and system functions are up and running.
