The front wheels need to be pointing straight forward and the turn signal stalk should be placed in the center, before you begin. Don't drive the steering wheel onto the column that runs through the steering wheel. Set the wide part of the steering wheel's spline against the shaft's missing part on the column and push the wheel onto the shaft, checking it does not get caught when the
Clock Spring lines up with the back of the wheel. Bolt the steering wheel into place, then tighten it to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.) using a torque wrench to make sure it stays on the shaft. Next, slide the puller out and reattach the previously removed speed control screw. Once that's done, join the wiring connector (2) to the Clock Spring. Before connecting the battery negative to the
Air Bag, install the driver air bag (3), since the system requires an air bag System Test first. Perform the air bag System Test as outlined in Restraints, finally attach the battery and check the vehicle operation.
